The Riels break the game wide open in the third period to come away with 2 points on Wednesday night against the Express.
Seven minutes into the first period, Brandon Bartley was sent on a breakaway and made no mistake to give the Riels a 1-0 lead. Both teams exchanged chances, but no more goals were scored in the first.
In the second period, the Express would tie the game up.  Just over a minute later, veteran forward Jacob Tresoor would give the Riels the lead back. Assists went to Alec Borger and Brandon Bartley.  The Express would apply heavy pressure and would tie the game up late in the period.
The Riels came out hard in the third.  Dawson Braun would finish a tic-tac-toe goal off to give the Riels the lead.  Assists went to Isaiah Cockerill and Owen Stebnitsky, A couple minutes later, the Riels would add another goal. Ben Kirton would be sent on a breakaway and dekes out the goalie to give the Riels a two goal lead.  Assist went to Brandon Bartley.  The Express would answer back just under midway of the third.  Gagliardi would be stellar and shut the door for the rest of the game.  About five minutes remaining, Owen Stebnitsky would finish off a two on one play to give the Riels a two goal cushion.  Assists went to Marco Mazza and Dawson Braun. The Riels would seal the game with an empty net goal from Nic Burmey.  Assists went to Owen Stebnitsky and Tyler Gagliardi.
