FRIDAY NOV. 24, 2017

The Riels came out of the gate flying on Friday.  Midway in the period, Brett Lefko would score the games first goal.  Assists went to Quinten Prokopec and Brayden North.  Six minutes later, Sam Jean-Paul would score off a nifty wrap around goal.  Assists went to Adrian Fran and Brayden Bazinet.  The Riels outshot the Express 11-7.
The fast pace play by the Riels continued in the second period.  The Riels threw 16 shots on net, but could not solve the Express goaltender.  The Express would capitalize on a turnover and make it a one goal game going into the third.
Down by one, the Express came out with their best period of the game and would tie the game up five minutes in.  Both teams would exchange chances in the third period, but the game would head into overtime.
The exciting 3 on 3 overtime saw some great chances by the Riels.  Both goalies would stand tall and would take it into a shootout.
In the shootout, rookie Cory Chrapun would have the best chance by hitting the cross bar.  Tyler Gagliardi would stop 3 of 4 Express shooters. Express take the shootout win 3-2.
Gagliardi made 30 saves.
