The game was scoreless after one period of play. The Riels outshot the Jets 11-9.
In the second period, Captain Nicholas Burmey would burry his 8th of the season from a nice passing play from Jacob Tresoor. With under 2 minutes remaining in the second period, newly acquired forward Kyle Byczkowski would score from the high slot redirecting off a Stonewall defencemen. Assist went to Cory Chrapun. The Riels could not hold onto the two goal lead as the Jets score with just 3 seconds remaining in the period to make it a one goal game going into the third. Reid Pennington was busy in the second making 15 saves.
In the third period, both teams shared scoring chances, but the Jets were the beneficiaries. The Jets scored midway in the third period to take the game into overtime.
In overtime, the exciting 3 on 3 hockey was keeping the fans on their toes. The Jets controlled the play, but Pennington would shut the door sending the game into a shootout. The Jets would score the long goal in the shooutout. Pennington made 45 saves for the loss.
